Which teleradiology operations can use PostDICOM?

PostDICOM supports every model — from a solo radiologist receiving share links from clinic clients to a national teleradiology company managing hundreds of reads a day — any remote radiology operation can use PostDICOM.

Can a teleradiology company manage its full B2B reading workflow in PostDICOM?

Yes — receive studies from multiple referring sites, distribute reads to your team of radiologists, and deliver reports back, all from a single cloud platform. Multi-radiologist companies providing remote reading as a B2B service to clinics, hospitals, and imaging centres are a primary use case.

How does an independent teleradiologist receive and report studies from clinic clients?

Receive studies via secure browser links, read in the full PostDICOM viewer, and upload the PDF report to share back — no PACS client or VPN required at your end or the clinic's. Solo radiologists offering remote reading services are a natural fit for this workflow.

Can a hospital radiology department offer remote reporting to outside clinics via PostDICOM?

Yes — offer remote reporting to smaller clinics, specialist centres, or general practitioners without deploying additional PACS clients at the receiving site. Hospital and clinic radiology departments that extend their services beyond their walls use PostDICOM for this purpose.

How do emergency and on-call teleradiology services handle after-hours reads in PostDICOM?

Studies arrive in the cloud the moment they are acquired at the referring site — the on-call radiologist opens a secure link from home, on compatible PCs or Macs, at any hour with no VPN call-in required. Services providing out-of-hours or 24/7 remote coverage use this as their standard workflow.

Can PostDICOM support cross-border or follow-the-sun teleradiology reading?

Yes — studies uploaded in one country are instantly accessible to radiologists in another with no international PACS infrastructure required at either end. Teleradiology operations that leverage time-zone differences to provide overnight or continuous coverage use this model with PostDICOM.

How can a clinic without an in-house radiologist send studies for remote reporting?

Upload studies via the PostDICOM app or auto-send from your imaging device, then generate a share link for your contracted radiologist in seconds — no PACS-to-PACS connection required. Clinics outsourcing their reporting to a remote reader are a common PostDICOM use case.

How does a teleradiology workflow run from study receipt to report delivery?

PostDICOM connects every step of the teleradiology workflow without PACS infrastructure, VPNs, or DICOM clients at either the sending or the reading end.

01

How does a referring clinic send studies to a teleradiology service?

The study arrives in your PostDICOM account within minutes — either uploaded via the PostDICOM browser application by the clinic, or auto-sent directly from the imaging device after acquisition via the Medical Device Communicator. No PACS-to-PACS connection is needed.

02

How does a coordinator triage and assign a received study to a radiologist?

The study appears immediately in your account organised by patient, date, and location — your coordinator reviews it, decides which radiologist should report it, and generates a share link, all from the PostDICOM interface without any additional software.

03

What does the radiologist receive to start reading a teleradiology study?

A password-protected, time-limited share link sent by email or your internal workflow system — they click it, enter the password, and open the full PostDICOM viewer in any browser with no VPN, no PACS client, and no additional DICOM software needed.

04

How is the completed report and study delivered to the referring physician?

Attach the PDF report to the study in PostDICOM and generate a separate share link for the referring physician — they view images and read the report in their browser with no additional DICOM software or PostDICOM account needed at their end.

What features does PostDICOM provide for a teleradiology service?

Secure study sharing, browser-based reading, team management, report delivery, and multi-site reception — built to connect the full teleradiology workflow in one platform.

How does PostDICOM securely share studies with remote radiologists?

Generate password-protected, time-limited share links for any study and send them to your radiologist by email — they open the study in any browser with no additional DICOM software, no PostDICOM account, and no VPN required at their end.

Does the teleradiologist need to download or install anything to open a study?

No — the full PostDICOM viewer runs in any modern browser on compatible diagnostic hardware with nothing to download or install at the radiologist's end. Zoom, window and level, measurements, MPR, MIP, and 3D volume rendering are available the moment the link is opened.

How does PostDICOM manage a team of radiologists across different specialties?

Manage multiple radiologists from a single account with role-based access — each team member sees only the studies relevant to their specialty or reading assignment.

How does a teleradiology service deliver the report and images to the referring physician?

Attach the PDF report to the study in PostDICOM and generate a separate delivery link for the referring physician — images and the attached report are accessible in a single browser session with no additional software or PostDICOM account needed at their end.

Can a teleradiology service receive studies from multiple referring clinics in one account?

Yes — all incoming studies from different clinics arrive in a single PostDICOM account, organised by location, modality, date, or patient. Each referring clinic uploads via the PostDICOM app or auto-sends from their imaging device using the Medical Device Communicator.

Can PostDICOM integrate with a teleradiology RIS or scheduling platform via API?

Yes — PostDICOM offers JavaScript, FHIR, and DICOMweb integration options usable from the browser or server side. Connect your RIS or scheduling platform to automate study routing, worklist assignment to radiologists, and share link generation without manual steps.

Common questions

How does a referring clinic send us a study?

There are two common setups. In the first, the referring clinic uses the Medical Device Communicator (MeDiC) to auto-send studies directly from their imaging device into your PostDICOM account — no account needed at their end. In the second, the referring clinic has their own PostDICOM account and generates a share link to a study which you open in your browser. Both approaches work without PACS-to-PACS connections.

Does the radiologist need to install any software to open a study?

No. The radiologist clicks the share link, enters the password, and the full PostDICOM viewer loads in any modern browser on compatible PCs and Macs. No PACS client, no plugin, no VPN, and no PostDICOM account needed at their end.

What diagnostic tools are available in the browser viewer?

The PostDICOM viewer includes zoom, pan, window and level, linear and angular measurements, multi-planar reconstruction (MPR — axial, sagittal, coronal), maximum and minimum intensity projection (MIP/MinIP), and 3D volume rendering. All tools are available in the browser immediately when the share link is opened.

How do we deliver the report and images back to the referring physician?

Attach the PDF report to the study in PostDICOM and generate a separate share link for the referring physician. They click the link, open the study images, and read the report in their browser — no additional software or PostDICOM account required at their end. You can set an expiry date and password on the link.

How do we manage multiple radiologists and assign reads?

Each team member can be added as a user with role-based access. Generate a unique share link per study and per radiologist — they see only the study that link points to, not your full archive. You can also organise studies by referring site, modality, or priority within your account to manage your reading queue.

Can we receive studies from multiple referring clinics?

Yes. All incoming studies from different clinics arrive in a single PostDICOM account, organised by patient, date, and location. Each referring clinic can use the Medical Device Communicator to auto-send from their device, or upload studies via the PostDICOM browser application.

Can PostDICOM integrate with our RIS or scheduling system?

Yes. PostDICOM offers JavaScript, FHIR, and DICOMweb integration options, usable from the browser or server side. Connect your radiology information system or scheduling platform to automate study routing, worklist assignment to radiologists, and share link generation without manual steps in the PostDICOM interface. API access is included in the Enterprise plan.

What imaging modalities are supported?

PostDICOM supports all standard DICOM modalities — CT, MRI, digital radiography (DR), computed radiography (CR), ultrasound, PET, nuclear medicine, mammography, fluoroscopy, dental X-ray, and others. Any device that outputs standard DICOM files is compatible.

Where is study data stored?

When you create your PostDICOM account, you select your primary storage location from 12 independent Microsoft Azure regions: EU (Germany (Frankfurt), France (Paris)), USA (East, West, South Central), UK (London), Switzerland (Zurich), Canada (Montreal), Asia-Pacific (Singapore, Australia (Sydney), India (Pune)), and South America (Brazil(São Paulo)). Your data is hosted within your selected jurisdiction to help you meet local data residency requirements and comply with regional healthcare privacy laws (such as GDPR or HIPAA).

Is the platform secure for patient imaging data?

Yes. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS 1.2 or 1.3 over HTTPS. Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. Share links are password-protected and expire automatically on the date you set. PostDICOM holds CE Mark Class IIb medical device certification, ISO 13485 quality management, and ISO 27001 information security certification.

What happens to our data if we cancel our subscription?

Before cancelling, download all DICOM studies and documents you wish to retain. When your subscription ends, all patient data is permanently deleted from our systems. Your account record is retained for accounting purposes only.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. All plans include a 7-day free trial with full access to your selected plan's features. We use Stripe 3D Secure authentication at sign-up to verify your card — this is a 0 authorisation. You are not charged until your 7-day trial expires, and your subscription auto-renews unless cancelled. You can easily cancel any time before the trial ends.
