What happens after the 7-day free trial?

To ensure a seamless experience and prevent service interruptions, we use Stripe Setup Intents with 3D Secure (SCA) authentication at sign-up. This securely verifies that your card is valid, but you will not be charged during the 7-day trial. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your account will automatically convert to a paid subscription, and your card will be charged for the plan you selected. Your subscription will then continue and renew automatically until you choose to cancel.

What are 'Patient Upload Links' and how do they work?

Patient Upload Links (available on Elite and Ultimate) let you generate a secure, time-limited link that you send to anyone outside your organisation — a patient, a referring hospital, an insurance agency, or a legal firm. The recipient clicks the link and uploads their DICOM images or documents directly into your PostDICOM account, without needing a login or creating an account. This eliminates the need for physical CDs, couriers, or shared credentials.

Is the Advanced HTML5 Viewer really included on every plan?

Yes. Our zero-footprint Advanced HTML5 Viewer — including Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR), Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP), and 3D Volume Rendering — is included on every pricing tier at no extra cost. We consider these essential diagnostic tools, not premium add-ons.

Is the system HIPAA and GDPR compliant?

PostDICOM's infrastructure is built within a certified environment holding ISO 27001 (Information Security) and ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) certifications, as well as a CE Mark (1984-MDD-10-057). All patient data is encrypted at rest and in transit via TLS 1.2/1.3. Our architecture is designed to support HIPAA and GDPR compliant workflows.

How does annual billing work — what is the actual saving?

When you choose annual billing, you lock in a discounted monthly rate, saving you up to the equivalent of 2 months of service compared to paying month-to-month. For example, the Elite plan at €299/mo billed annually costs €3,588/year. If you paid monthly (€359/mo), it would cost €4,308/year. By paying annually, you save €720 each year.

What is Live Presenter Mode?

Live Presenter Mode is a presentation tool designed for Tumor Board meetings and medical conferences. It allows presenting physicians to draw dynamic annotations directly onto DICOM slices in real time. Annotations automatically fade after a few seconds, functioning like an integrated digital laser pointer without cluttering the image with permanent markings.

Can I migrate my existing DICOM images from an old PACS?

Yes. There are a few ways to securely migrate your data depending on your current setup:

• Direct DICOMweb Transfer: Because our Cloud PACS natively supports DICOMweb, any system with DICOMweb capabilities can transmit images directly to PostDICOM without requiring additional local software.
• Medical Device Communicator: For traditional on-premise PACS and modalities, our Professional, Elite, and Ultimate plans include the Medical Device Communicator to securely route your data to the cloud.
• Manual Web Upload: We also provide secure web interfaces for manual migrations directly from your browser.

Will my service be interrupted if I reach my storage limit?

You will always maintain access to view your existing patient data. However, if your storage capacity is completely full, you will not be able to upload or receive new studies until you free up space or increase your storage. While our system is designed to send automated alerts as you approach your limit, we highly recommend monitoring your current usage directly in your dashboard. You can easily upgrade your plan or purchase a 500 GB Storage add-on at any time to ensure continuous workflow.

Can I store data in a specific geographic region?

Yes. When you create your PostDICOM account, you select your primary storage location from 12 independent Microsoft Azure regions: EU (Germany (Frankfurt), France (Paris)), USA (East, West, South Central), UK (London), Switzerland (Zurich), Canada (Montreal), Asia-Pacific (Singapore, Australia (Sydney), India (Pune)), and South America (Brazil(São Paulo)). Your data is hosted within your selected jurisdiction to help you meet local data residency requirements and comply with regional healthcare privacy laws (such as GDPR or HIPAA).

How do add-on prices change on monthly billing?

The add-on prices displayed on our website reflect the discounted rate for annual billing. If you prefer a month-to-month subscription, add-ons are billed at the standard monthly rate, which does not include this annual discount. You will see the monthly cost for any add-on clearly displayed in your account dashboard before you confirm a purchase.

Does PostDICOM support multi-site clinic or hospital networks?

Yes. You can route imaging data from multiple physical facilities into a centralized PostDICOM cloud account using the Medical Device Communicator to create a unified workflow.
For larger networks, we highly recommend our Location Add-ons. While not mandatory for basic multi-site routing, these add-ons unlock critical organizational and security features:

• Data Organization & Filtering: Automatically tag incoming studies by their physical origin, allowing your team to easily filter and search by specific clinics or hospital branches (e.g., "Hospital A" vs. "Hospital B").
• Advanced Access Control: Administrators can set granular permissions so staff or referring physicians only see patient data from their assigned locations. This ensures strict privacy compliance and streamlined workflows across your entire network.
